I feel “hugged” when I’m by the ocean, too. It’s my safe place. And I believe glimmers can absolutely be planned. I try to be intentional about them, especially on the days I’m less likely to notice them ✨
Yes, exactly that, safe. To let go, to be, to do nothing. How lovely that we are kindred in that feeling too. I am glad you agree that they can be planned, because I can really feel my drive for making some of them happen. Like walking in woods in autumn because I know I feel an exhale when I see the leaves falling with the wind 🪄
Also, I am just finishing something, and then I am driving (even though I don’t like driving) to the sea, to coach my feet in the sand and feel it again. 🐚
Oh I love this post, and your description of the beach gave me a longing to feel my feet in the sand. ❤️
I definitely think we can create the conditions to experience more glimmers. I think it comes from opening up to the possibility of them being there and taking more moments to mindfully engage with all of our senses in the world around us 🌱 One of my glimmers today has been feeling the temperature change under feet when I padded outside with my morning cuppa - there's always an excitment I feel in my belly about the change in season - I'm excited to see your glimmer diaries unfold :)
I am so glad you liked it, Sarah! It gave me longing writing about it, and I went to the beach the next day too. 🐚
I never thought about it in that way, but it makes a lot of sense to me. I do engage more senses that usual when I am in those moments. Your temperature glimmer reminds me of my childhood and our terrace in Portugal. I think I will try yours too.
Have a wonderful day, hopefully with a glimmer or two ✨

Such a lovely idea ✨ Looking forward to reading about more of your glimmers!
Thank you David! I am actually really looking forward to writing more down, it feels like I cement them even better in my mind. 😊

A twisted leaf spiralled to the ground. I stood and watched.
That sounds so beautiful and peaceful, Claire ✨
